Today was day 5 straight!

wow. today was day 5 straight of working out. I'm beat, proud and exhausted.

i've been working out since Sunday and I'm not stopping until....well, I don't know. My body collapses? LOL Someone said to me today: "it seems like your body is permanently sore"...yeah, basically.

I've been working my ass off. Kinda disappointed because I did drink tonight... I had 3 vodka sodas (whoops) but I had a long week and well, I'm not fucking perfect.

I have hot vinyasa yoga tomorrow and happily a day off to myself to run errands & just do what I need to do.

Get it right, get it tight! Gonna keep going! xo

Obesity & traveling..

Embarrassing to admit but thats the point of this blog.

Traveling while fat is not fun. You dread the seats and the seat belts. I'll never forget my 1st flight as an "obese" adult 3 years ago. I got on the flight and was too fat to buckle the seat belt. I thought it was just a mistake. In my head I rationalized it as the plane was older & the seatbelts were just small. Too embarrassed to say anything, I just left the seatbelt off. The seats were a little snug and it made the flight uncomfortable. You may be a person who has experienced this or do now. It sucks. Simply put.

I'll never forget one of my first flights after my initial big weight loss chunk. I could buckle the seatbelt normal and have some room left to tighten it. Its a sense of accomplishment and "normalcy" to a degree.

Anyways, I write this as I'm in the air now. Heading to visit our Indiana office. Little things like this just remind me of my past life and never wanting to go back. Sitting comfortably in my seat now, drinking water and doing work. Just little things like that make me motivated to keep pushing.

You may think its too hard and its not worth it. Please, those medical bills aren't going to pay themselves. Get yourself and your mind right. Nothing in life is easy so light the fire under your ass because at the end of the day, you are the only one that an make a change :)

Lunch for tomorrow

Lunch time! Well, tomorrow.

I'm pretty tired after my cardio sculpt pilates class today. It was one of my worse performances but I still went. So I gave it 100% even if I couldn't kill it like I usually do.

Besides that, lunch for tomorrow. Pasta-less pasta with ground chicken. Yes bitch, you heard me right.

First, brown up some ground chicken or turkey. I like vegetarian, air conditioned 98% lean white chicken from Mothers.

Next, grab your "noodles". These things are YAM NOODLES. They are called the miracle noodle because there is NOTHING in them. Literally nothing.

You can get them at grocery stores, Asian grocery stores or health food markets. They're the shit.

Next is the best fucking pasta sauce eer. It's $8 a jar. Yes, it's liquid crack. No, it's not crack but it tastes so good you'll be addicted!!

Put it all in a pot once the meats brown and shake some spices in if you want and tahhhhh-dahhhhhhh. Done!

Hardest workout. Of my life.

So today I decided to be superwoman (aka a fucking dumbass) and took two back to back workouts. Yes, I know you're shaking your head like "child, what the fuck were you thinking".........

First, I did vinyasa yoga at work. I was so proud of myself because I was able to do some things I've never been able to do. After class my fav yoga teacher Heather told me I rocked it and was praising some of my pose progress! Woo!

So then, hell began. I went to The 12 studio. This place does targeted circuit training. Everyday they focus on different parts of the body. Sounds great right!? Well. Today was fucking arm day. Have you done vinyasa yoga?!? ITS A LOT OF ARM WORK WITH YOUR OWN BODY WEIGHT AS RESISTANCE. Get where I am going?!

Well I get there. First time. Already loved the blaring music choices. Yes! House music and then Notorious BIG!! Fuck yes!!!

Warm up: 3 minutes of burpees with alternating push ups. 1 burpee with a push-up, 1 burpee with no push-up, 2 burpees with push ups and 2 burpees with no push-ups, etc. For 3 fucking minutes. I died. I did it with a few breaks but I died.

Circuits.
4 stations with 3 exercises. You'll do each exercise for 40 seconds and move into the next. You repeat the station 3 times all the way through, once you're done you get a 90 second break and on to the next station.

Breakdown:
Station 1-
Chest flys (I did 15lb weights)
Dumbbell squats (I did 20lb weights)
Push-ups while on a medicine ball
(40 seconds each and repeat 3x)

Station 2-
Resistance band pulls
TRX skull crushers
Butterfly press (with 15lb dumbbells)
(40 seconds each and repeat 3x)

Station 3-
Chest press (15lb & 20lb dumbells)
Standing bike with resistance (this was a huge deal for me as I didnt think i could do this and I did!!!! All 3 times!)
Tricep push-ups
(40 seconds each and repeat 3x)

Station 4-
Incline treadmill on 7.0 while running at 5.5 speed
Overhead resistance bands
Scoop with resistance bands
(40 seconds each and repeat 3x)

I didn't puke or passout so score.

Yep. I'm dead.

Viva Las Vegas!

Im in Vegas for work. While I would LOVE to binge drink right now, I felt it more important to get my sweat on.

1 mile on treadmill on hill training zone (jogged 1/2 of the mile while coughing with this stupid ass cough I have)
10 kettle bell snatches in each hand (repeated twice)
40 Russian twists sitting in sit-up position with a 10lb medicine ball (repeated twice)
20 full body sit-ups with a 10 lb medicine ball (repeated twice)
20 raising 10lb medicine ball towards ceiling sit-ups (repeated twice)
15 chest presses with 15lb dumbbells (repeated 3x)
10 curls with 15lb dumbbells (repeated 3x)

I'm beat but there was no excuse

I really hate running

Seriously. The end.

Tonight I did 1 mile on the treadmill and 1 mile on the elliptical. Honestly, how the fuck do people run for fun?!!!! I wanted to cry, puke, cry, curse (outloud because lord knows there were A LOT of swear words in my head) and puke.

I did it though. Yay me.
This:

Was a result from a going away happy hour:

Being fit is a lot of hard work. Lol!!

Pushing yourself

Today I pushed myself to take a level 2 pilates/cardio barre class. Um, that was hard. Class was definitely intense and I tried my best to have perfect form. I'm so competitive with myself that I will push harder so I don't fail.

Anyways, I took the chance. While it wasn't the easiest class, I was proud of myself for getting up & going this morning.

Unfortunately I have the allergies from hell & been down the rest of the day. I missed a good friends party because of it so I'm definitely in a funk.

Have a great Saturday night

Bad Morning :/

So today sucked. This time change is kicking my ass. I didn't have time to make my breakfast protein shake so I ate a cup of strawberries, blueberries and a vanilla macaroon. See, no ones perfect. I am pretty mad at myself but I was hungry. Now I know that I'll have to eat very well for lunch & dinner...oh and work my ass off at bootcamp. Accountability is key. And yes, that macaroon was delicious but not worth it. LOL!

Mini accomplishment!

Today I ran a full mile non-stop on the eliptical on level 6 hill training!
I then did 3 miles on the stationary bike which took 15 minutes.

I wasn't going to but I forced myself.
Xo time to stretch!

Better sore than sorry!

Today I am feeling it. My calves are so tight and sore. I'm walking like a toy soldier. I was feeling sorry for myself when I came across this photo. Guess it's true! To sit on my ass or get up and move...hmmmmmm....GET UP AND MOVE!

Dinner tonight!

I was in a hurry because I needed to eat something small before I headed to pilates (which convientently just opened across the street from me, SCORE!)

Last night I marinated organic chicken with coconut oil, the Savory Shop's rub & some fresh rosemary. I let it all marinate for about 2 hours and then baked those suckers up!!!! 375 degrees for 30 minutes and taaaaaaadaaaahhh!!!

Anyways - I ate a chicken breast and upon arrival back home I drank my veggies. If daylight savings + pilates hadn't kicked my ass so hard I'd go into juicing but I will save that for another day

Xo goodnight!

My workout schedule this week

In the beginning..

I don't really know when it started. Oh wait, yes I do. I started the life of a yo-yo from a young age. I wasn't really "fat" but I wasn't thin. I played sports, loved dance but loved good food. Back then there weren't movies to educate us on the dangers of fast food. This was a time to grab something on the go: your kid got a toy & you escaped making lunch. Win, win. My parents cooked a lot of our meals but my father also worked for Nabisco. Cookies were stocked like the supermarket shelves. Again, I don't blame them. They didn't have the resources or knowledge we have now, and I am SO GRATEFUL we know what we're putting in our mouthes now.

My "tipping" point was almost 300 pounds. And by almost, I mean 2 pounds. I will never forget that day at my doctors office. I was mortified. I had no idea I had let myself go so much. I was humiliated, embarrassed, disgusted and determined.

I've tried it all. Diet pills, not eating, fad diets and did I mention not eating?

I'll stop with the same ol stuff you hear from everyone at the turning point. You catch the drift. I have made some life changes and I will start from there and move forward.

1) I don't eat fast food. It's really disgusting. My only "fast food" is Animal Fries from In & Out and that's a treat I will have once every 4 months or so

2) I have a gluten allergy so I am gluten free not by choice but it was one of life's greatest blessings

3) I don't eat red meat, pork or eggs. Red meat & pork make me sick and eggs...it's a texture thing LOL!

4) I love to socially drink. That's something I do try to cut back but sometimes a girl just needs a drink!

5) I'm not perfect, no one is

6) I workout so nothing comes easy. If you want an easy answer: go get lipo and a tummy tuck.

7) My current routine is bootcamp, pilates, yoga and cardio.

Here is a picture of me at my heaviest and me as of last Monday (3/3/14)

Hope this story will help you all!
